It is undisputed that if the desired climate neutrality is to be achieved, future mobility in Europe must no longer be based on fossil fuels. However, there is a great need for discussion regarding the design of post-fossil mobility. In view of the ongoing energy crisis, the distortions on the world markets and the problems with the expansion of renewable energies, to name just a few factors, the extent to which mobility based purely on electric drives is still realistic must be questioned. The climate target cannot be achieved with electromobility alone, because even in 2035 the majority of existing vehicles will still be equipped with combustion engines. In some areas, these are irreplaceable even by today’s standards. Against this background, a holistic approach must be found for the design of post-fossil mobility in order not to fail in reality.
The need for information and discussion on this problem is enormous, which is why the FAD e.V. will organize a workshop on this.
