The FAD-QS evaluates exhaust aftertreatment systems for diesel engines of different application categories, mainly in the after-market.
It labels exhaust aftertreatment systems that were tested in respect to their specific application and evaluated according to criteria of a broad practical experience in manufacture and use. By this the choice of the appropriate system is alleviated for manufacturer and user.
The FAD test criteria allow for an objective evaluation of the exhaust after-treatment systems’ functionality and suitability for the most varied fields and conditions of use of the diesel engine. The FAD test criteria are based on national and international standards and regulations. The seal is awarded in function of the test results, considering the specific nature of each system as well as basic conditions specific of the application.
Legal status
The FAD-Quality Seal is a quality standard which is not legally binding. It serves for voluntary functionality control and quality assurance of exhaust aftertreatment technologies for diesel engines of the most varied categories of use, primarily in the after-market.
The FAD-Quality Seal is awarded to exhaust after-treatment systems in the sector of diesel engines. The products are grouped according to their purpose of use and important engine categories. The scope of validity and action of the FAD-Quality Seal extends to all forms of diesel engine exhaust aftertreatment, i.e. aftertreatment systems, partial systems and sensors, such as:
